Two of the markets that have been popular since hundreds years ago are Beringharjo market with various merchandise, ranging from batik to Javanese herbs, as its commodities and Ngasem market that sells various kinds of birds and pet animals and traditional cakes. Another market is Gabusan art market with handicrafts as its main commodity. Relatively new, Gabusan art market has been center for 444 craftsmen.
