Ceramics is the handicraft made from the clay after undergoing combustion process.
Kasongan village is famous for the earthen ware products since in the past, there were many craftsmen of such products as jug, jar, and other utensils living in the area. With the influence of modernity and the culture from outside through various media, ceramics products now have thousands of motif and model variations. The shapes and functions also vary, from the small ashtray to the tall flower vase as high as human posture. Some ornaments have specific functions but some others are just ornaments.
Yanto ceramics is one of the ceramics craftsmen living in Kasongan village. Some of their ceramics products are combined with egg shells that are attached using special glue. Besides, Yanto ceramics also produces antique repro jars and Buddhist statues. In addition to producing its own designs, Yanto ceramics also makes ceramics jars with the designs as requested by customers.
