RUBA GRAHA HOTEL - A SENSATION TO STAY IN THE MIDDLE OF MINI ZOO
We can feel different atmosphere when we step our feet in front of the hotel's lobby. We will be welcomed by 'Yu Beruk', a kind of monkey which moves energetically. When we enter Ruba Graha building, we feel a great atmosphere. The dark light produces quiet and calm ambience when we check in. The exotic batik hanging on the wall becomes the beautiful ornament. When we go around the hotel which is located on Mangkuyudan Street, we realize what makes this place different from the other places.
In the gap between lobby and dining room, the warble of myna bird colors the calm atmosphere of the lobby. Walking to the west side of the hotel, you will be surprised to see a very big iguana which is still lazy to open its eyes. When you are still amazed by that iguana, look at your back and you will be more surprised to see Javanese eagle perching on a stem. Then you can walk to the south, there is a couple of big turtles. When you are satisfied to see the animals on the west side, then you can continue walking to the east side. There is a civet which seems confused by moving back and forth in its stable. Going along the path in the east of receptionist desk, there comes a big surprise. There is a huge python which is coiling up. That huge creature is the most attracting animal in Ruba Graha Hotel. With more than 60 kg weight and several meters length, this animal is very striking. Every morning, the python is taken outside the stable to be dried on the open yard in front of the hotel. During this process, the visitors usually crowd around the python and take picture with it. In addition to the python, the lazy big iguana is also taken outside the stable every morning.
The existence of mini zoo in Ruba Graha does not fail to remember its function as the place to stay. You can enjoy various choices of rooms and other facilities such as meeting room, swimming pool, and badminton court. The location which is near the center of the city makes you easy to reach the other tourist objects in Yogyakarta. Several places such as Malioboro, the South Square, Panggung Krapyak (a place for the Mataram kings to hunt deer in the past), and the home industry of batik in Tirtodipuran Street are not far from Ruba Graha Hotel.
