YogYES.COM Launched Tour de Djokdja
~ TrulyJogja.com (13 December 2006) ~
Entering the third anniversary of YogYES.com, the Internet site promoting tourism of Jogja that also serves as Jogja tourism catalog site launched the new program called Tour de Djokdja on Tuesday (12/12), at Jayakarta Hotel in Yogyakarta. In the event, YogYES.com introduced Tour de Djokdja, which contains interesting articles on tourism in Jogja.
Agus Supriadi, the project leader of this program, explained that tourists' need for information on tourism objects is hindered by shortage of media providing such information. Such information, if any, is usually limited to general tourism objects, which tourists will usually visit during their first visit to Jogja. Shortage of information also becomes one of the factors causing the average tourist visit length of only around 1.6 days. Responding to that matter, YogYES.com launched a wandering through Jogja program with the intention to introduce unreported corners of Jogja with its uniqueness.
More that just a common launching, this event also held discussion DOTCOMERS v3 with Nukman Luthfie who was one of detik.com directors who is now a consultant of e-commerce business. In this occasion, much time was spent on discussing on-line business. Many tips on doing on-line business were presented in relax, humorous and very interactive style by Nukman Luthfie. He encouraged business via Internet and the participants were so enthusiastic during this dialog session. Consistency and persistence highly influence the continuation of such business. Success and failure of e-commerce business were presented in detail. Such interesting presentation did not only trigger participants to come up with questions but also stimulated visitors' creativity to explore the niche in e-commerce business, ranging from utilizing blog to make money to selling veils on-line.
There is always opportunity even the smallest ideas to become a developed company; one of them is YogYES.com. The presence of Tour de Djokdja as one of tourism activators is needed. Information distribution agents, especially in tourism sector, are needed to normalize world of tourism in Yogyakarta after the earthquake. It is possible that someday local-base companies will be able to reach nationwide coverage. (dit)
