Embung Banjaroya (10 New Spots in Kulonprogo 2015)

Located in Banjaroya Village, Kalibawang, Kulon Progo, there's an Embung (embung means small man-made lake in Javanese) with its icon, a giant durian statue. Though its main purpose is for watering the Menoreh durian plantation around it, local people often visit the place for sightseeing. From there, the typical cool and calm green scenery of Kulon Progo can be seen freely. In the morning, thin mist appears, hanging on the hill tops around it. from Jogja City - Ring Road's Demak Ijo crossroad, go straight - Jl. Godean - Godean Traditional Market - Progo River bridge - Nanggulan crossroad, turn right - Dekso crossroad, go straight - Bendo Traditional Market Rest Area, turn left toward Suroloyo - follow the road - Embung Banjaroya
