Public Transportation to Parangtritis

Here you can learn everything you need to know to travel to Parangtritis and Gumuk Pasir Parangkusumo on a public transportation from Giwangan Bus Station, Malioboro, Lempuyangan Train Station, Adisutjipto International Airport, and Prawirotaman.

Parangtritis Beach is well-known for its captivating sunset and romantic evening atmosphere. Unfortunately, the last bus of the day always leaves Parangtritis at 5 pm. But don't you worry, my friend. Parangtritis has dozens of lodgings where you can spend the night.

Apart from the romantic sunset, you can also enjoy the thrilling sandboarding sport at Gumuk Pasir Parangkusumo. From the beach, you can simply walk along the beach for around 20 minutes.

Parangtritis Beach is only 27 km, or 40 minutes away, from Jogja. However, if you choose to take public transportation, it will take you around 1.5 hours to get there, depending on the departure time and traffic condition. There is only 1 public transportation mode that can take you from Jogja to this famous beach and that one transportation is a regular non-AC bus departing from Giwangan Bus Station.

1. From Giwangan Bus Station To Parangtritis

The one bus that will take you from Giwangan to Parangtritis is Abadi bus (24 units). These buses usually have the writing 'Jogja - Parangtritis' written on the front window.

Abadi bus will drop you off at Parangtritis Bus Station, around 200 meters from the shoreline. You can also ask to get off near Gumuk Pasir Parangkusumo, before Parangtritis Beach.

2. From Malioboro To Parangtritis

Take a Trans Jogja 3A bus from any shelters you can find along Jl. Malioboro, then catch a regular bus at Giwangan Bus Station.

3. From Lempuyangan Train Station To Parangtritis

Take a Trans Jogja 4B bus at Lempuyangan Portable Shelter and catch a regular bus to Parangtritis at Giwangan Bus Station.

4. From Adisutjipto International Airport To Parangtritis

Take a Trans Jogja 3B bus at the Airport Shelter and catch a regular bus to Parangtritis at Giwangan Bus Station.

5. From Prawirotaman To Parangtritis

The regular bus traveling from Giwangan Bus Station to Parangtritis will pass Jl. Parangtritis dividing the Prawirotaman region. You can just hop onto any bus bearing the writing Jogja - Parangtritis. This bus usually makes a brief stop in front of Cube Hotel at Jl. Parangtritis.
