In architectural term, Bale Bengong refers to a Balinese gazebo with park all around it functioned as informal or relaxed room. With this concept, Bale Bengong Family Resto comes as a place to enjoy excellent food and cozy environment in Kalasan, Yogyakarta. In more detail, the Balinese concept of this restaurant can be seen from the clothes wounded around the pillars that are printed in Balinese motif. The sound of Balinese gamelan (traditional music instrument) along with the friendly greeting from the waiters and the waitresses, who wear Balinese clothes on their waist, can also be found there.

Bale Bengong Family Resto consists of a pendopo (a Javanese large open building that usually serves as a hall), a closed-structure building, and some small gazebos for more private meal time. All food in this restaurant is served and cooked from fresh ingredients. One of the foods is Udang Bambu. It is a special menu using fresh prawn, basil leaf, leek, and other ingredients that are grilled in a bamboo. When it is put on the plate, the good smell of the basil will raise your appetite. Not only Udang Bambu, this restaurant also serves other delicious and special food like Plecing Sasak, Sayur Lawar from Bali, Ikan Steam (Fish Steam), and Kepiting Saus Padang (Crab with Traditional Sauce from Padang). No need to worry if you are not a sea food lover because you still can enjoy the chicken menu, sop buntut, mi goreng (fried noodle), mi kuah, nasi goring (fried rice), and many more. The price of those foods is ranged from IDR 4,000 to IDR 52,500.

Do you like es kelapa muda (young coconut ice)? Bale Bengong has a very special innovation for this. Not only es kelapa muda, it also has kelapa bakar (roasted coconut) that is served with some syrup from palm sugar, honey, lemon, etc. Don’t worry about the roasted fruit because the roasting process is done in a such a way so that you can still eat it easily. There are also some special drinks in this restaurant, such as Mimosa Lime Squash, Orange Squash, Tamarind Squash, juice, ginger drink, soda, and many more. The price of the drink is ranged from IDR 3,000 to IDR 17,500.

Bale Bengong Family Resto is located on Solo Street km 12,5 Kalasan, Sleman (behind a petrol station), about 100 meters from the main route of Yogyakarta-Solo.
