Villa Hanis is an extension of the concept of Hani's Restaurant & Bakery: Quality Living & Leisure! Villa Hanis, located in a secluded part of the garden of Hani's Restaurant, is a restored 'limasan' house fully adapted to modern desires. Respecting the local character of the Javanese house, it was transformed into a haven of tranquility, united with the natural surroundings. In accordance with the Quality Living' principles of the owners, Villa Hanis was designed as a luxurious retreat, being neither posh nor super chique. It answers to the natural desires of people who just love living and respect nature and creativity.
What makes Villa Hanis unique is the use of an original limasan country house as the base for the concept. The whole structure and the wooden panels with doors, all in teak wood, are original. The roof tiles are old 'wave-shape' tiles, still found on old houses. The only major change is that the house has been lifted 60cm on stilts and a solid wooden floor was installed as a substitute to the earth floor of the original house. The lifting of the house created the possibility to make a front terrace, slightly lower than the inside level, without changing the original shape of the low roof. Even though the modern bathroom was of course not part of the original house, the concept of it is still in line with the character of the building. Half open, the bathroom keeps you connected with nature while the materials used (terrazzo and lava stone) refer to the local basics.
One of the first impressions upon entering the house is the warm and pleasant smell of the old teak wood. It gives local guests a feeling of nostalgia, a memory of their grandparent's house. The teak wood furniture was made by CV Max, a Yogyakarta furniture manufacturer, in accordance to the character of the house. A huge bed with klambu dominates the 70m2 interior of the main room; a wardrobe and some low cupboards offer plenty of space for clothes. All furniture is very stylish, modern but warm. The adjacent smaller bedroom, also with open bathroom, has similarly designed furniture and has a particular coziness. One of the main factors for the relaxed feeling in the house (and outside) is the subtle but thought through lighting. It gives the whole environment an aura of exclusivity! The flat screen TV gives a technological touch to it all; reminding us we live in the 21st century.
Villa Hanis has a 200m2 private garden that offers a spectacular view on Mount Merapi. As part of the concept the rooms are never rented out separately, so the garden is always private! A big garden table with an old bench and some chairs offer guests to enjoy their dinner in the cool air of north Yogyakarta.
Apart from the normal facilities found in star-rated hotels, like air-conditioning, hot water, satellite TV, internet, mini bar, etc., Villa Hanis offers a personal service that tries to cater to all the guests needs. In house massage, tours, bookings for golf etc. will be arranged on a simple request. Apart form the delicious breakfast (Hani's is also bakery!) room- (or garden-) service from Hani's restaurant is from early morning till late night. Furthermore there is a private entrance to the premises with private parking.
In addition to all the facilities, the unique architecture and the view, Villa Hanis offers a 'feeling'. A feeling of romance, of relaxation and coziness. A feeling of quality living!
