It cannot be denied that Borobudur and Prambanan temples are major tourist interests for visitors coming to Yogyakarta each year. The past earthquake on 27 May 2006, however, causes would-be visitors wonder whether Yogyakarta is still worth visiting, considering vague news telling that Borobudur and Prambanan temples were severely damaged.
This sixth edition of Tour de Djokdja takes the theme of "Masterpieces of the 9th Century" reporting two buildings that were said to experience severe damage plus Ratu-Boko Palace that is not less interesting. Through this edition, we would like to ward off the rumor and confirm that Yogyakarta is not missing its principle enchantment to attract millions of people. Minor damages resulted by the quake have been restored.
In Borobudur, we will take you walk through narrow paths to reach the top of the temple where Buddha with his grandeur is sitting calmly. Eagle, the savior, and Kalpataru tree that gives life to the world can be found in Prambanan temple. Meanwhile, Amerta - the well that brings luck and the grand gate are found in Ratu-Boko Palace.
