The triumph of Islamic Mataram Kingdom and its fractions (Yogyakarta dan Surakarta) had always been followed by the construction of pesanggrahan - a building or place that was constructed for meditating. Many of them were designed beautifully and now we can enjoy its past beauty from the valuable ruins. Tour de Djokdja through the theme of "Ruins of Sites" invites you to spend time there.
Going to the western part of Yogyakarta city, we invite you to visit Pesanggrahan Ambarketawang that was built by Paku Buwono II before the breakup of the Islamic Mataram. The place was the first palace of Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat kingdom, the fraction of Islamic Mataram that was ruled by Pangeran Mangkubumi. Heading eastwards, there are two other historical pesanggrahan buildings. There are Pesanggrahan Warungboto presenting the enchantment of Water Garden of the 18th Century and Pesanggrahan Gua Siluman keeping mysteries.
