Tour de Djokdja No. 27 / I: Coast to Coast (Part III)Wednesday, 21 February 2007

Wednesday, 21 February 2007
After visiting traditional beaches in Kulonprogo Regency and the sacred beaches in Bantul Regency, Tour de Djokdja invites you to visit the exotic beaches in Gunung Kidul Regency.
The beaches in this area are not just beautiful but they have uniqueness. The Siung Beach, for example, was triumphant in the past and now it has more than 250 routes for cliff climbing. Then, Wediombo Beach challenges you to catch big fish from the height of the coral reef cliff that you have to pass by slippery and steep cliff to reach it. The Sadeng Beach at the east end of Gunung Kidul is not less interesting; it gives an opportunity to the line and the estuary of the ancient Bengawan Solo River.
Bon Voyage!

Siung Beach is rich in the huge coral reefs. There are 250 routes for climbing the cliff in the area and you can find the proper sites to enjoy the beach panorama. There is also monkey's fang-like coral reef from which the name of the beach originates.
Wediombo Beach, Fishing from the Coral Hill
Fishing at the height of a coral hill to get big fish is certainly extraordinary tour. In Wediombo, you can get not only such an experience but you can try to eat Panjo fish and see the Ngalangi ceremony.
Sadeng Beach, Visiting the Estuary of the Ancient Bengawan Solo River
The line and the estuary of the Ancient Bengawan Solo can be seen when you come to Sadeng Beach. Looking at the present condition while imagining the past time is like witnessing the evolution process. Our eyes will see in astonishment.
