Not many cities have the places that keep keris collection and the places producing its complementary accessories. Yogyakarta is one of the few places having those functions. Tour de Djokdja this edition, through it theme "Keris, Javanese Traditional Weapon", invites you to visit such places.
Tour de Djokdja will take you to visit Sonobudoyo Museum that keep around 1,200 keris and its accessories. Next, we will show you Serangan village where craftsmen decorate keris with golden materials. Finally, you may come to visit Banyusumurup village producing the seath and pendok (metal sleeve of the seath) of keris.

Sonobudoyo Museum, Admiring the Keris Collection
As many as around 1,200 keris from all parts of Indonesia can be seen in Sonobudoyo Museum. They range from the keris from Yogyakarta, Solo, Madura,to the ones from Kalimantan (it is called Mandau) and Sulawesi or celebes.
Serangan Village, Visiting the Home of the Keris-carvers
Serangan village invites you to see the activities of the keris-carvers; a very important yet often forgotten profession related to keris. They decorate keris with carvings and golden to diamond accessories.
