The interaction of Indonesian and Dutch people for 350 years resulted in new culture as the combination of the two, which is often referred as Indische or East Indies. One of the Indies culture expressions that we can enjoy in a tour activity is the building with Indische architecture in Indische cities in Yogyakarta. Tour de Djokdja this edition with the theme of "Indische Area in Yogyakarta" invites you to enjoy its beauty and explore the history behind it.
Tour de Djokdja will take you to the Dutch large buildings or locally called loji, from Loji Besar that functions as fortress, Loji Kecil functioning as dwelling place, Loji Kebon as governmental building and Loji Setan that is eerie. Then, we will take you to Kotabaru area, a Garden City with unique design that is enriched with old buildings and complete facilities, similar to that of Menteng area in Jakarta. Finally, we will take you to Bintaran area where the House of Pangeran Bintoro stands and as an Indische city, too.

Loji, the First Indische Area in Yogyakarta
Some Dutch great buildings or often called as loji with various functions can be enjoyed its grandeur now. Loji Kecil, Loji Besar, Loji Kebon even Loji Setan, all of them presents its historical story.
Kotabaru, the Exploration to an Old Park Town
It is an Indische town worth mentioning as one of the most advanced areas by its time. Built with garden-city concept with radial pattern, Kotabaru becomes an area that is parallel to Menteng, an Indische area in Jakarta.
Bintaran, from the House of Pangeran Bintoro to Indische City
Bintaran developed parallel with the coarse of time. Starting from a dwelling place of Prince Haryo Bintoro during the rule of Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono, this area became an Indische housing area in 1930s.
